To make the most of your initial appointment, please bring a few items with you. We suggest 2-3 pairs of the shoes you wear most often, along with any current orthotics, braces, or other equipment you use. Wearing clothing that allows easy access to your feet and lower limbs and that is comfortable for movement is ideal. Additionally, noting any symptoms, discomfort, and factors affecting these can assist us in our diagnosis and treatment plan. 

A referral is not necessary to book with our podiatrists. However, for those using an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan, a referral is needed to claim under Medicare. Some private health insurance claims might also benefit from a referral for particular conditions – it’s best to consult your GP or provider if you are unsure. 

Private health insurance often covers podiatry services, but the details may vary between policies and providers. To avoid unexpected charges, we suggest confirming with your insurance provider before making an appointment. 

Your initial consultation involves your podiatrist getting to know you, including your medical history, treatment goals, and any concerns you have. We will then perform a comprehensive examination of your feet and lower limbs, usually incorporating gait analysis and paying attention to specific issues. Once this is done, we’ll go over our findings and recommendations with you. 

If you have persistent or worsening foot pain, skin or nail conditions, injuries that won’t heal, or any other foot-related issues affecting your daily life and health, it’s time to see a podiatrist. Early treatment can provide more options, so it’s wise to seek professional help if you’re concerned.
